1. Who we are

ScentPass is a personal fragrance journal app developed by GanbareLabs, an independent developer. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, you can reach us at:

2. What data we collect

ScentPass is designed to collect only what is strictly necessary to provide the service.

If you use the app without an account (guest mode): We collect no personal data. All your preferences and fragrance collection are stored locally on your device only.

If you choose to sign in with Google:

Your name and email address, as provided by Google Sign-In.
Your olfactory profile (favorite fragrance families, occasions, signature scent).
Your personal fragrance collection (fragrances you own, have tried, or want to try).
Your personal ratings for fragrances.

Signing in is entirely optional. The app’s core features are accessible without an account.

3. How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide and improve the ScentPass experience:

To save and sync your fragrance collection and olfactory profile across devices.
To display your personal ratings alongside community ratings from our data partner, Fragella.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers or third parties for marketing purposes.

Supabase is our cloud database provider. Your data is stored in their infrastructure under standard security practices. You can review Supabase’s privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.

5. Third-party services

ScentPass uses the following third-party services:

Google Sign-In (OAuth) — for optional authentication. Governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
Supabase — for cloud data storage when signed in. Governed by Supabase’s Privacy Policy.
Fragella API — provides fragrance catalog data and community ratings. No personal user data is shared with Fragella.

6. Your rights

You have full control over your data at any time:

Access: You can view all your data directly within the app.
Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app settings. Deletion is permanent and immediate.
Portability: Your fragrance collection and profile exist within the app and can be reviewed at any time.

7. Data retention

If you delete your account, all personal data associated with your account is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.

If you use the app in guest mode, no data is stored remotely and nothing persists beyond your device.

8. Children’s privacy

ScentPass is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
